The Zoom video conferencing software can be downloaded below.
Once Zoom is installed, click "SSO" to sign in to Zoom using your school Zoom account.
When prompted to enter "Your Company Domain", type in vsa-edu-hk, then click Continue.
Click "Sign in" on the vsa-edu-hk.zoom.us webpage.
A web browser would open, and you will be prompted to login to your school google account.
After you have logged in, return to the Zoom app, and you will be logged into Zoom.
After downloading the Zoom app at the app store of either platforms, launch the app as usual.
After launching the Zoom mobile app, click "Sign In".
Use the option "Sign in with SSO" to sign in with your school google account.

Zoom provides a handy way to test out the app by going to zoom.us/test.
If you see the windows popup like this, please follow the instructions below.
After signing in, click the "Join" button.
Type in the Meeting ID supplied by the meeting host.
Click the "Join" Button.
When prompted for a password, type in exactly as it was supplied by the host.
Wait for the host to admit you from the Waiting Room.
Click the invitation link supplied by the meeting host.
If the invitation link does not include the password, you may have to enter the meeting password on connecting to the meeting.

Before you join a Zoom meeting, you can preview and test your camera and audio setting.
Select "Test Speaker and Microphone" if you want to test your sound and camera settings.
A window will appear showing a live preview of your camera.
Select "Join with Video" if you want the camera to be switched on when you join the meeting.
Select "join with Computer Audio" to use the microphone, speakers, and camera of your computer.
Click the "New Meeting" button.
After a new meeting session is initiated, click the info button (circled in red) at the top-left corner of the meeting window.
Click "Copy URL" to copy the invitation link on to your clipboard
Paste the invitation link to an email, an instant message, etc., to send the invitation link to the other participants.
Alternatively, click the "Participants" button on the bottom of the Meeting window. Then, click the Invite button of the bottom right corner. After that, click the "email" button to open your web browser and send a pre-filled invitation email to the other participants.
Click the "Schedule" button in the Zoom app.
A new windows will popup for setting up the meeting details, such as Topic, Date & Time, etc.
After the information are filled in, click the "Schedule" button to schedule the meeting.
Login to Zoom using your school google account.
After logging in, click "Schedule a Meeting" on the top of the page on the left of your profile icon.
A new page will load, and your can set up the meeting details, such as Topic, Date & Time, etc. on the page.
Click the "Save" button at the bottom to save the scheduled meeting.
For the Meeting ID option, it is recommended to have it generated automatically for security purposes.
The use of meeting password and Waiting Room is now mandatory for all Zoom accounts of education institutions.
There are different controls to the Zoom meeting available, depending on whether you are a host or an attendee in the meeting.
Depends on your role in the Meeting (Host / Co-Host / Attendee), the Control Bar at the bottom of the Meeting Windows will have different buttons available.
Mute and unmute your microphone.
Turns your camera on or off.
Invite others to join your meeting.
Control functions related to the participants in the meeting. (See below for details)
Chats with all participants or privately message a participant.
Shares your screen and/or sound from your computer to all the participants, click here for more detail.
Records the meeting to the cloud (Zoom server) or to the host's computer. The recording will be prepared after the meeting has ended. Click here for more detail.
As a meeting host, you can control the following functions in a meeting in the "Participant" window by right-clicking on the attendee's name:
Chat privately with the Participant.
Make an attendee the Host (This transfers the Host role to that attendee.)
Make an attendee a Co-Host
Muting and Un-muting of the participant.
Start or Stop the video of the participant
Rename a participant
Send the attendee back to the Waiting Room
Remove a participant from the meeting. (This is irreversible! Once a participant is removed, s/he cannot re-join the same meeting.)
As a Co-host, you can control the following functions in a meeting in the "Participant" window by right-clicking on the attendee's name:
Chat privately with the Participant.
Muting and Un-muting of the participant.
Start or Stop the video of the participant
Rename a participant
To use the "Virtual Background" function in Zoom, you can enable it by clicking the ^ arrow next to "Start/Stop Video" in a meeting.
For choosing which background to use during a meeting, you an go to "Preferences" > "Virtual Background" to choose the virtual backgrounds provided with Zoom, or use your own images from your computer.
If your live preview is showing strange images, please find a background with a solid colour which has a significant difference to your skin tone and your clothes' colour. (In other words, the background should be a solid colour with high contrast with the foreground.)
A warning window might appear, notifying you that the ability to use a virtual background is not available. Please check if your computer is meeting the system requirements.
All MacBook Pros which comes with USB-C connectors should be able to use virtual background without a green screen. If the warning window appears, please contact our IT support staff.
